Automattic is the parent company of WordPress.com. They have released a Windows version of its desktop application which is free and works well on Windows 7 64Bit machine. It looks and performs precisely the same as its Mac counterpart. This is not out of the ordinary as the interface is driven by JavaScript that communicates with the WordPress.com REST API. It’s significant that the desktop applications don’t have the same number of components as the mobile applications. As indicated by the development team, this is just the starting and users can expect to see quick emphasis in the weeks to come.
