After more than a couple of months in development, WordPress 4.4 beta 1 is now available for testing with over 1,600 commits since WordPress 4.3’s release. Commits are bug fixes, additional functions, new features, and corrected typos.
There are three new distinct user facing features in WordPress 4.4.

- Responsive Images
- oEmbed Posts
Scott Taylor, who is leading the 4.4 development cycle, gives developers at least four reasons to be excited.

Take note that the beta is still software in development and therefore not recommend for use on a production site. WordPress 4.4 is scheduled for release on December 8th. The description of each features in WordPress 4.4 enumerated above is available for viewing at WordPress 4.4 Beta 1 Released.
